PIERRE TUFFIGO

An engineer, Pierre TUFFIGO worked for 12 years in Paris at the Direction Générale de l'Armement as head of an R&D programme, then within the Thales group as head of development for a group entity. With this industrial experience behind him, Pierre TUFFIGO embarked on an entrepreneurial adventure in 2017 with the aim of developing an innovative industrial company based in Nantes.

His meeting with Frédéric Boyer, director of the biorobotics laboratory at the Institut Mines-Télécom Atlantique in Nantes, which developed the "electric sense" technology, was the starting point for ELWAVE. The company is building on 10 years of high-level research by the biorobotics laboratory on the world's unique "electric sense" detection technology. Originating in nature, the electric sense is the mode of perception used by fish living in the muddy tropical waters of Africa and South America where vision is ineffective. " The electric sense is the only technology that can detect all types of materials in water, air and sediments at 360° in real time. This unique capability is a major breakthrough in underwater and industrial robotics. explains this new entrepreneur.
