Far more sophisticated and 'intelligent' than any of the cameras you're reading this with in your pocket or in front of you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember that Nature (and we are Nature) is \"smart\"; that it's \"tiring\" to produce, store and consume energy; and that we need to be alert, hyper-vigilant, on the lookout, to stay alive, to protect ourselves, to hunt, to feed ourselves... <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what solution has evolution found and put in place for our camera?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-> Don't bother filming what you don't need to!<\/strong> Our retina records background images and only \"updates\" them if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-> Result?<\/strong> This means less fatigue, fewer resources consumed, only useful data processed, better visibility (better detection) of what's moving (= what's useful).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-> A demo?<\/strong> You do it every day and hundreds of times a day! When you're sitting quietly and a spider or insect crawls across the wall or the floor ... don't you jump? don't you turn your head? \ud83d\ude09 \/ when you stare at the ground in the forest, don't you see those ants or little beetles wandering around when you had almost no chance of seeing them motionless? \/ when you wait at the red fur, do you really need to stare at the pole to know that it has turned green? or are you \"warned\" even without looking at it? \/ when you look at the sea and a humpback whale pops up (okay it doesn't happen every day), don't you turn your head? aren't you alerted? ... and amazed?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prophesee is the inventor of the world's most advanced neuromorphic vision systems.
