Pascal Provost has been working in the field of nature conservation for 20 years. He has worked in two state reserves: 2000 to 2012 in the Seine Estuary National Nature Reserve (Normandy), and for the last 8 years in the Sept-Iles National Nature Reserve (Brittany).<\/p>\n

A graduate of the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes de Montpellier, Pascal has extensive professional experience in the field of conservation biology. His credo is based on a scientific and interdisciplinary approach (natural sciences and human and social sciences): study to better understand and then act to better protect biodiversity (habitats and species). With an objective and transparent working method, it associates the socio-economic component with the environmental issue by evaluating the place of sustainable economic and recreational activities in its territories.<\/p>\n

In collaboration with his teams and several researchers, he has carried out dozens of national and international studies and publications to propose effective conservation measures for several emblematic bird species: Bittern, Aquatic Warbler, Northern Gannet and Atlantic Puffin.<\/p>\n

Anxious to leave a quality natural heritage to future generations, Pascal enjoys passing on his knowledge to as many people as possible and supervises several student internships: http:\/\/tv-tregor.com\/culture-science\/lpo-operations-scientifiques-sur-larchipel-des-sept-iles\/<\/a><\/p>\n

A protected area is a territory for preserving exceptional biodiversity, but also a territory of covetousness and a political object. With this in mind, its manager must compose a rigorous, objective and accepted partition of its socio-economic territory. By decompartmentalising ecology and economy, the challenge is more difficult but the stakes are higher. Through a few concrete examples of conservation of threatened species, Pascal Provost wishes to remind us of the strong links between man and nature while defending an ideal of biodiversity conservation with rigour and high standards.<\/p>\n
