Like at home 2021

You liked this atypical and intimate format! We will repeat it at Biomim'expo 6 in 2021.

In a small lounge set up "as if at home", informal and intimate discussions with researchers, lab directors, company managers, teachers, designers, architects ... to exchange and discover jobs and functions. Every 30′, a man or a woman faces you.

The entire 19 OCT programme is easier to consult and print if necessary

BUSINESS "Doctoral student in the field of bioinspiration. How and why does one begin to study the nature and flight of dragonflies after an academic career in physics?
How is this link made? What are the challenges of such research topics?

Camille Aracheloff. PhD student. Functional Evolution and Taxonomy.

JOB ... "NATURALIST - SENTINEL OF BIODIVERSITY. Protecting nature and biodiversity at our level? Contribute to the knowledge of the species that surround us? Pass on your passion for ornithology to others and encourage a community sensitive to the same issues through participatory science programmes. Come and discover a profession that is both close to nature and to others, which is growing rapidly because it is increasingly useful in helping us to better understand and live with the living world around us....

JOB ... "PROGRAMME AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER FUTURE FARMS.

How can you build a meaningful career in ecology after business school?

Marion Enzer will talk about her career path, from her choice of business school studies to her career change during the On Purpose Programme, in order to orient her career towards ecology.

The association Fermes d'Avenir wishes to bring together, publicise and defend the interests of farms that meet the current agricultural and food challenges. Driven by the general interest, they allow the population to be fed with healthy and qualitative food (taste, maturity...), while preserving the planet's natural capital (water, soil, climate, biodiversity...) and guaranteeing a viable, livable and resilient activity for the farmers.

JOB ... "DESIGNER AND BIOMIMETICIST.

Alizée GérardIndependent designer specialising in biomimicry, sustainable development & transition.

From a fascination for natural ecosystems to a singular design practice, at the service of our environment.

Born in French Polynesia, I have always had a special relationship with nature, which I very quickly perceived as a source of inspiration. After 7 years of studies in the field of design, I created my company in December 2018. My life path has led me to a singular design practice: I attach a real importance to current environmental conditions, to the interest of collaborating with nature and being inspired by the incredible innovative processes it implements. It is through various projects, alongside multidisciplinary teams, that I develop my activity in the service of a more sustainable environment.

3.30 - 4pm

WORK " PHYSICS TEACHER How and why does one become passionate about the optical properties of materials 🙂 and how does one end up chasing Morphos butterflies in the Amazon? By the way, how do you prepare such excursions? With whom are they organised? What is the daily life of a physics professor working on surface nanostructures? Do we suck at the genius of living materials?

Serge BerthierProfessor of Physics at the University of Paris-Diderot; researcher at the Paris Institute of Nanosciences.

After his speech, Serge Berthier will propose a sequence of dedication at the ephemeral bookshop of Biomim'expo on the Rue de l'Echiquier stand.
