Antoine Wystrach, 34 years old, research fellow at the CNRS, works at the animal cognition research centre in Toulouse (CNRS/Paul Sabatier University).
His scientific interests lie in the study of visual learning in insects, and in particular the strategies used by ants to navigate their complex natural environment. His approach combines experimental field studies and neural network models inspired by the insect brain.
He is the author of 40 publications, winner of three 'young researcher' awards in 2012, 2015 and 2017, as well as of a prestigious European funding (ERC-starting-grant) in 2017.
